Kami Mizu Filtration System
KAMI MIZU™ bio-filter system aims to convert organic fish waste to carbon dioxide, which then dissipates harmlessly into the atmosphere. This process, called nitrification, occurs in bio-filter chambers that contain media supporting the various types of bacteria necessary to complete this process. To achieve the best environment for bio matter's oxidization is to create the ideal conditions where nitrifying bacteria can function efficiently.
Happy bacteria work harder, and the way to make them happy is by giving them the best environment (in this case, media) in a highly oxygenated condition. The more successful types of media are those containing the most significant amount of surface area.
KAMI MIZU™ has been experimenting with different kinds of pond filtering systems for our use and our customers for over thirty years. KAMI MIZU™ has used mechanical filters, bio bead pressure filters, fluidized, bio up flow, downflow, trickle tower with various kinds of media, including matting, lava rock, sponge, all types of gravel and stone, bio balls, bio rings, brushes and different types of media together in the same system.
The fundamental concept is that the better your system and the healthier your fish's environment, the more success you will have raising koi that reach their maximum potential.
