Ginrin Sakura
$1,850.00
A Ginrin Sakura Kohaku is a graceful Japanese koi that brings together the timeless red-and-white beauty of Kohaku with the added brilliance of ginrin scales and a softer, more delicate style of pattern. The Sakura-style beni gives the fish a lighter, more decorative feel than a traditional stepped Kohaku, while the sparkling scales add brightness and movement across the body. The result is a Nishikigoi with a refined presence that feels both elegant and visually distinctive.
What makes Ginrin Sakura Kohaku especially appealing is its balance of softness and clarity. The white base keeps the overall look clean and fresh, while the red pattern and ginrin create texture without making the fish feel heavy. A strong example should still have attractive shiroji, pleasing pattern flow, and even sparkle that enhances the fish naturally. For anyone drawn to Japanese koi with classic Kohaku character and a more luminous, ornamental finish, Ginrin Sakura Kohaku offers a very polished and memorable expression of the variety.
How are koi packaged for shipping?
Each koi is double-bagged with oxygen and shipped in an insulated, temperature-controlled box.
Do I need to be home when it arrives?
Yes — someone 18 or older needs to be available to receive the shipment as soon as it arrives. Prompt unboxing and acclimation is important for the fish’s health.
What happens in bad weather?
We may delay shipment during extreme weather to protect the koi, and will let you know if that happens.
Can I combine multiple koi into one shipment?
Yes — multiple purchases can typically be combined into a single shipment. Ask us about holding your koi if you’re still deciding on others.
Factors we account for
- Koi size and quantity — larger or multiple fish need more water volume and larger boxes.
- Box weight — water, oxygen, and insulation add real, billable weight.
- Distance and destination — domestic vs. international, and how remote the delivery address is.
- Season and weather — extreme heat or cold requires heat packs or extra insulation to protect the fish in transit.
- Speed of delivery — live animals ship overnight or via expedited air cargo, never standard ground.
